The historic tale of baseball’s Jackie Robinson is set to hit the hit the big screen and production will be taking place in and around the greater Atlanta area. Casting calls and auditions for various roles in 42 are being held soon. This is your chance to be cast in the film story of one of the most heroic figures of the American Civil Rights Movement.
Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in Major league Baseball and subsequently helped lead our country through the dark days of racial inequality. 42 will follow Mr. Robinson’s story from his meager upbringing through his college life and military career. The crux of the project will revolve around Robinson’s recruitment and relationship with Branch Rickey, the Brooklyn Dodgers President who mentored and guided Robinson through his most difficult and trying days playing before an insensitive society. The film will be directed by Oscar Winner Brian Hedgeland and stars the legendary Harrison Ford as Rickey and up and coming talent Chadwick Boseman (The Express) Robinson.
